The 2037 eruption of Lassen Peak was a VEI 6 rated Peleean eruption, which casued the destruction of a wooded area that was a major attraction tto tourists in the area. It began on March 19th after a magnitude 7.9 earthquake in the Cascadia Subduction Zone, and continued until June 13th, killing 31 people, and injuring 300 others as it continued to erupt violently. Mud flows buried the surrounding areas, and roads had to be protected by lava walls after the eruption, therefore preventing such a disaster from occurring again in the area.
